About

Jacinta has been passionate about health & wellbeing from a young age. She started practicing yoga in her early teenage years through her mum, an experienced yoga teacher herself. Her interest in health resulted in a Bachelor and Master in Health Sciences in Amsterdam. In the meantime she came across The Journey, a healing method developed by Brandon Bays. She was astonished by this powerful and effective, yet simple process to get rid of emotional, mental and physical unhealthy luggage or basically clutter of any kind. Since she was a little child, Jacinta had longed to live from her heart, but not knowing how to do that. The Journey answered her prayers and she is now an accredited Journey Practitioner.

In between her travels to Africa, doing voluntary work and internships, she met the love of her life, a kiwi block with Dutch roots. In 2011, she moved from The Netherlands to New Zealand to join her kiwi partner and she hasn’t looked back. Her love for yoga became vibrantly alive while living in Auckland and she decided to deepen her yoga knowledge and gain her teaching certificate through the Byron Yoga Centre. She realized this was just the start of a life long journey and she continues to study and deepen her self-awareness. She moved from Auckland to Whangarei in June 2013 and has been teaching yoga in Whangarei at different locations ever since. Einstein has put it beautifully: “The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.” Yoga is a wonderful way to honor our sacred gift and calm our mind and connect with other people on a deeper level.

  1. Hey there! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and liking a post. I’ve never studied yoga, but I like the idea of it. I do have some yoga videos that I do on occasion and I’ve thought many times about taking a class. I live in Orange County, and I take my dog for a walk every morning. There are two places where I walk him where there are daily outdoor yoga classes (one time my dog ran through the middle of a class – that was embarrassing!). It looks so peaceful. Anyway, despite the fact that I don’t currently practice yoga I’m going to follow your blog. Your blog is inspirational for everyone and maybe it will inspire me to finally take the initiative and study yoga!

  2. Hi Celeste!

Great that you’re going to follow my blog.
Since both my parents are vegetarians, I’ve been brought up like that as well.
Not a vegan (yet), but really interested in this subject and vegan recipes.
    Looking forward to learn more!

  3. You’re fortunate to have been raised vegetarian! My parents think I’ve gone off the deep end with the way I eat:-).
